The M500 is an inexpensive alternative to expensive taut band (swing needle) me ohmmeters, providing fast and accurate measurements to verify the condition of insulation. It is impact resistant and comes with a soft carrying case. The M500 is designed for a range of applications, including testing motor winding insulation and diagnosing heat-damaged, deteriorating insulation in hermetic refrigeration compressors, appliances, panel boards, relay control circuits, and motors. It can measure insulation values up to 1000 me ohms at 500 VAC.
The M500 features a zone scale to indicate the insulation condition, making it easy to interpret the readings. It is a handheld device, and the test leads can be stored in the case when not in use. The M500 operates on two C batteries, which are not included.
